Major General Gouverneur Kemble Warren is considered the hero of Little Round Top during the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863. General Warren's last minute defense of Little Round Top during the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg repealed the advancement of the Confederate forces to the left flank of the Union defense.
