I went to explore some new road in southern CO and northern NM during the height of the aspen tree fall colors. Having photographed the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge railroad from select vantage point on the highway in the past, I timed Cumbres Pass to get another try. This photo is of the train, now in the NM part of its route, on the long downgrade slide into the Chama depot.
