Steller's cow (Hydrodamalis gigas)

Aquatic mammal living near the Commander Islands. Discovered in 1741 during the expedition to Vitus Bering. The body length reached eight meters,the average weight - 5 tons. Animal nutrition - vegetable, with a predominance of algae and seaweed. In the hunt for the giants there was nothing complicated, the animals treated people without fear. As a result of predatory extermination by man, for 30 years the animal disappeared from the face of the Earth. The photo was made using multi-exposure.
