Times change. Once upon a time, it was too dangerous to step foot in this park. The steps up provide a metaphor for the change and winter solitude a time to reflect. Below is a pond Columbia U intended to a gymnasium; it was stopped by protests in 1960's. Today popular spot in Harlem.
