Stillness

A bullfighter is holding the capote behind his arched back as an immense bull charges at him. The torero is completely still, calm, quiet, while the furious beast runs at him at full speed. The plaza is completely full. The wooden walls are painted by various artists. The bull carries bright paper flowers on his back. This is one of the most important corridas of the Temporada Grande, the bullfighting season in Mexico City's Monumental Plaza México: the Corrida Guadalupana, which celebrates the day of the Virgen de Guadalupe. The Virgen de Guadalupe is very important for Mexican toreros, for they entrust their lives to her while they face the bull with nothing but a piece of cloth between their hands.
