I've known this amazing human being for several years - first when her father coached my son in baseball, and then when she hired me to be her wedding photographer. It should be noted that she comes from a family dedicated to service, so it's no surprise that this is the path that she's taken. On her wedding day, while everyone is getting ready (hair, makeup, etc), she's sitting on the floor, hair half up, makeup not yet done, not yet dressed, and she's taking an exam. I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was an EMT exam and her instructor didn't care that she was getting married that day, it needed to be done. That's just the beginning of her level of commitment. Over the last few years, I've kept up with her on social media and it really struck how she does not fit the stereotype for a firefighter, yet here she is. So I started thinking about those preconceived notions we have about women and how they're pretty much crap. Women are amazing. I wanted to celebrate that, so we went out and took a bunch of photos in what I hope is a series of shoots with women from all different walks of life.
