Mahamasthakabhisheka is the most important Jain festival and is performed once in 12 years. The town of Shravanabelagola is well known for this. During this festival Devotees bathe The monolithic statue of Lord Gomoteshwar Bahubali with coconut water, milk, sugarcane juice, saffron and turmeric paste, sandalwood and vermilion. After the bath they offer flower petals, precious gems, gold and silver to the god.
