17th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Summer in the Berkeley Library

My padded footsteps echoed in the empty hallway, doors silently creaking opening and shut as I looked into a past and a future not my own. Through an open bathroom window I found the terracotta tiles basking in the splendor of the sun. The air filling my lungs with regret but also relief. My body weightless. Lest we forget, fate controls the balance of chaos and order.
