Summer Sunrise in the Nation's Capital.
As the sun was rising behind the Washington Monument, at this point, the sunlight completely engulfed the top of the monument. The light "spilled over" and ate up the top of the monument. A few seconds later and the hot summer sun was already higher in the sky and this photo was no more.
