The summit of Mount Chocorua rises high above the lakes region of New Hampshire (to it's south) and sits at the southern edge of New Hampshire's White Mountains. Mount Chocorua is the first of many mountains in the range that one sees as they travel north on the iconic Route 16 through New Hampshire, indicating to travelers that they have arrived in the Whites.
