Sun Pillar over Seattle
One of the strangest sunsets I've ever seen, over Elliott Bay in Seattle. Just as the sun dipped below the horizon, this incredible vertical beam of light extended upward from the setting sun. These sun pillars form when sunlight reflects off the surfaces of ice crystals drifting in the air.
