This photo is of Au Sable Dunes, in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Munising, Michigan, on the southern edge of Lake Superior. The National Lakeshore stretches for 42 miles between Munising and Grand Marais, Michigan. It includes sandstone rock formations, waterfalls and sand dunes. The name comes from the 15 miles of sandstone cliffs northeast of Munising.
