Sunrise at Bryce Canyon

The sun warms the air as it rises over the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon. This was my first visit to Bryce Canyon and I figured Sunrise Point should be a good place to get a sunrise shot. As I walked from the parking lot to the overlook a passerby commented that the sunrise was disappointing. The sun was barely above the horizon and much of the canyon was still in shadow. As the sun rose in the sky it began to reveal the amazing colors that were hiding in the shadows. Light bounced off the hoodoos creating an amazing view. I felt sad for the earlier visit who left the overlook before she could experience the real beauty.
