Sunrise, Mekoryuk, Alaska
This was taken very early during the long Alaskan sunrise over the Inuit village of Mekoryuk, Alaska. The village is one of the last still thriving on Nunivak Island, about 30 miles off the west coast of Alaska. The photo depicts the morning sun striking a row of colorful houses very near the inlet leading to the Bering Sea.
