16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Sunrise through the trees
The sun was shrouded in thick smoke from forest fires in Canada. We watched the sun rise from a mountain top near Mt. Baker and saw and redish/orange ball burst through the smoke. The composition through the pine was just perfect.
