Growing up in Queens, heading to high school in the Bronx started with the 7 train. Standing on the platform contemplating the trivial pursuits of the day, the Twin Towers always stood in the distance. Assuring me of my place in the world and that I am waiting for the right 7 train, that memory was triggered looking out at the Statue Of Liberty while waiting for the G train. Different icon, same reassurance.
