Sunset at Monument Valley

I took this picture while camping and waiting for the International Space Station to appear in the night sky. I got to my campsite at Muley Point in southern Utah early, so spent the time until nightfall exploring and taking pictures. The site was located at the top of a 1000 foot and gave a great, lesser-known view of Monument Valley. As the sun set, the desert went from a pale reddish orange to a rich gold to a deep blueish-gray. The silhouettes of the rock formations of Monument Valley really seemed to stand out against the paler desert and ridges behind them, and the light in the sky gave a calm, ethereal feeling to the scene.
