18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Mobile
Sunset over a mountain reservoir
This mountain in rural Japan was a favorite cycling spot of mine, but the reservoir and its solitary tree only caught my eye on my last ride down. The water is likely used by local farmers for watering orange trees and flooding rice fields.
