On some days each year, the sun comes out to play in the far north of Scotland. I spent a week in the Scottish highlands in September 2016. Most of the time it was completely overcast, but one afternoon the sun came out. I was walking along the Durness Golf Club, facing Balnakeil Beach. I was struck by the beauty of the clouds, early fall flowers, white sands, and crystal clear waters.
