On a cruise of the Rio Frio on the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica, we came upon a sloth that had fallen out of his tree to the ground. Although he looks as if he is dreaming a happy dream, in truth, our trip leader said he would probably die because he would not be able to move fast enough to get back up into a tree where his food was.
