A harvest of Sweet Chestnuts (Castanea sativa) nicely presented on a mossy stump. Sweet Chestnut is not at all abundant in Ireland but there is quite a few places here and there where they can be found growing in the wild. Possibly a leftover from a farming activities in the past.
