A winter sunset illuminates the Sydney Opera House, one of Australia’s most iconic buildings. Over 233 designs were submitted in the Opera House international design contest, with Jørn Utzon of Denmark’s design being what we see today. After 14 years of construction, the Opera House opened in October 1973.
