Synchronized Walk
During the first year of life, an African baby elephant rarely strays even a trunk's length away from its mother's side, seeking a secure berth beneath her belly whenever it feels nervous. It was a privilege for me to see this baby walking happily under its mother’s abdomen in Masai Mara. Both mother and baby's front right feet are perfectly synchronized. Their movements are so graceful and flawless. Undeterred by the environment around them, they seem to be in a bubble of their own.
