20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Taking Flight
While talking a walk through my local cemetery, we spotted this red-tailed hawk perched on the lip of a headstone. This picture was taken as he spread his wings, off to explore the more lively areas of the city.
