Pictured is one of the Replicas of the first sailing ships to VA. Jamestown Settlement. Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery. Ships like this were used to America’s first permanent English colonists to Virginia in 1607. In December of 1606, these three ships moored in Jamestown Harbor brought 105 passengers and 39 crew members to the area as an expedition sponsored by the Virginia Company of London.
