Tayu Dochu(Tayu Parade)

Tayu Dochu is an event held in Shimabara, Kyoto. A well-dressed tayu, accompanied by attendants such as kamuro, parades from okiya to ageya while stepping on the Uchihachi characters with an umbrella. It is a stylized version of the rituals performed by priests and high priests at shrines and temples, and the highlight is the footwork called ``Uchihachimonji.'' Tayu・・・The pinnacle of geisha who was given the rank of Shogoi and was granted an audience with the emperor. Kamuro・・・ Kamurois a young girl who takes care of a tayu, along with the tayu and prostitute apprentices.
