Teacher at Olinga Primary School outside Gulu, Richard Odongkara, goes from home to home to teach children. Since the schools closed throughout the country in March 2020 in order to stop the spread of the deadly corona virus, he has tried to follow up the children's teaching from home.Teachers are the true heroes in this pandemic. The private school teachers have been without salary for more than 1,5 years and while many of them have been forced to leave the professions, others continue to teach kids on a volunteer basis. While some children have access to digital education and private teachers, vulnerable children have ended up outside the school system. In Uganda, the school closure has led to an increase in child labor and teenage pregnancies. Many of the children will never return to school again.
