Tara is a dear friend and we often tell stories together. During last winter she wanted to use conceptual photography to tell the stories of her family (particularly of the women) and spousal and generational abuse. The stories run deep with her and it took us a while to pick the direction and path to take on this journey into the past. As she imagines the trauma her grandmother and aunts endured, she suffers with them and has a strong determination to remember them and to not continue on the same path that life offered them.
