Temperate Rainforest in Hoonah, Alaska

In summer 2015 I went on a cruise to Alaska. Our first stop was Hoonah, a Tlingit village in the southeast region of the state. This place was truly a hidden gem. It has a temperated rainforest, which is part of the Tongass National Forest, the largest national forest in the US. The rangers there keep everything as natural as possible. The lush green vegetation and bizarrely shaped roots of huge fallen trees were just amazing. No manicured park-like atmosphere, just pure nature. The picture is showing large fir trees of the rainforest in the evening sun.
