Temple of Antoninus and Faustina

The Roman emperor, Antoninus Pius, constructed a temple to honor his wife, Faustina, who died in 141 AD. After Antoninus’ death in 161, the temple was dedicated to the deceased emperor and empress. In the seventh or eighth century the temple, apparently in good condition, was converted into the church of S. Lorenzo in Miranda.
