21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Terry by his Barn
5 generations of my family have lived in this small town, and as a photographer I wanted to document the people who call Hildreth home. I am shooting with a Voightlander lens using black and white film. The lens if from 1867 and the process is much like a pin-hole camera where I remove the lens cap and do an exposure of 5-10 seconds capturing movement and the vibrations between the sitter and the lens.
