Thanks for Cooperating

I live near a pond surrounded by plants which are always humming with the activity of countless dragonflies. I spent a long time photographing them one day - waiting for one to touch down long enough for a shutter click. All that waiting, standing motionless, was exhausting. As I was about to pack it in, I noticed one dragonfly that stood out from the rest: for one thing, it was black; for the other, it rested motionless on a leaf for a very long time. I took photos until my hands were shaking with the effort (no tripod!).
