A tremendously loud thunder woke me just before 5 AM. Lightning seemed to have struck just to the side of the house next door. So, I set up my camera under the covered patio, using the settings I figured would work, based on passed experiences and the brightness of the lightning strikes that were occurring. Then I went inside to watch through the glass door. I had not expected the lightning to cause such a pretty color on the water. That was a pleasant surprise!
