The abandoned castle in a paddy rice field

The castle of Vettignè in piemonte is a abandoned medieval village among the rice fields of the Vercelli area. In the background the Alps and the Monte Rosa with its perennial glacier. Rice farmers flooded their fields during the growing season, from spring to summer.
