20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
The African Fish Eagle with her prey
During a game drive we arrived at a small lake full of hippos. In the middle of the lake there was a small island with only one tree and the nest of a Fish Eagle. Looking around we spotted the eagle with a hare that she had killed and started eating.
