12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
The American Dream
Taken the day before my senior year, I was reminded of exploring this spot when I was very young and disappearing into cat tails. Despite veering off from a populated road, it feels uninhabited and secluded. I took it for my own sentimental value, but looking back, it served the purpose of reflecting my own evolution and change as well as that of my town. I imagine that it must have served a far higher purpose and am reminded of the simplicity of my town in its youth.
