The photo was made in a larger project called Exposing Movement, an collective artistic project that combines contemporary dance and analog photography. It developed a framework of creation and research for 4 visual artists and 3 choreographers. The 7 artist were together in a two-month lab to investigate the relationship between the photographer and the performer, and various technical ways to capture and represent movement on an argentic image.
