In 2015, I took a six-month sabbatical to travel through Europe, learn French, and study art and history. I stayed in 12 countries as far ranging as Ireland, Finland, Greece, and Italy. Florence was like a walking dream, around every corner was another world-class sculpture, painting, or heritage site. One evening, I embarked up hill to the Abbazia di San Miniato al Monte, an 11th century church with fantastic views of the Arno River and the city center.
