Hunting is an important part of Gwich'in tribe lifestyle, specifically for the porcupine caribou, which is the main part of their diet. The animal is respected by the tribe, every bit of the caribou is utilized either for food, to make tools, clothing, and traditional art, or to be used in traditional ceremonies and rituals.
