The Bosphorus Bridge

The Bosphorus Bridge or First Bosphorus Bridge (Turkish: Boğaziçi Köprüsü) is a bridge in Istanbul that spans the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the Asian side of Istanbul with the European side of the city. The bridge is a steel suspension bridge that is 1,150 meters long, 39 meters wide, and 105 meters high. The distance from the water level to the bottom of the bridge is 64 meters. Construction of the bridge began in 1970 and it was opened on 30 October 1973. The bridge is located between Ortaköy on the European side and Beylerbeyi on the Asian side of Istanbul.
