The Canyon

It’s hard not to feel insignificant and deeply humbled when faced with the enormity of the visible universe unfolding right above and all around you. There are few places so capable of provoking such awe as the Grand Canyon. After camping near the rim by this particularly remote part of the canyon, I made my way carefully along the edge, occasionally looking down the 3,000 foot tall sheer cliffs to the mighty Colorado, which appeared calm and tame from such a distance. As the first hints of day appeared, the canyon glowed deep tones of red, amber, and orange.
