Chasing Wild Horses

A contracted helicopter team chase a band of wild horses into a pen marking the end of the horses' wild lives at Sand Wash Basin in northern Colorado. This roundup, which took place in early September 2021, was the largest in Colorado history gathering more than 600 horses. At least two horses died in the process and many horse advocates adamantly disapproved of the methodology for collecting the horses before they were processed and shipped to a holding facility to learn their fate.
