I visited this magical place with the sacred church for the first time on a sunny day in October 2020. Early that morning, I surprised my beautiful grandmother with my presence, who had a birthday and instead of a material gift, and I arranged for us to take a day trip, and so we did. We have visited the Rila Monastery countless times high in the Rila Mountains, nestled high in the mountains. My grandmother always told me about the church and the cave above the Rila Monastery, but personally I had never visited them only to the monastery itself. After a short walk in the mountains you reach the miraculous small stone church "Assumption of St. Ivan Rilski". And the cave next to it where St. Ivan Rilski lived.
