13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
The ColiseumThrough The Looking Glass

Travel captured through my grandfathers camera and mine combined. I learned photography from grandfather when I was young. He gave me my first camera and taught me about looking at the world around me. When he died he gave me his old Roloflex and I decided I wanted to shoot photos with his camera and mine together, so both of our eyes are still seeing the world together. Because he was the person in my family that traveled the world, he wanted me to see the world too. He paid for my first backpack trip in Europe and he always encouraged me to get out and see the world around me. So, now every time I go to a new place, I bring his camera and capture a photo of a well known place through his camera and mine.
