The Cotton Field

This is a photo of a cotton field in Georgia. I came across it as my family and I were returning home to Memphis, TN. We'd just finished visiting my parents in Georgia and had to stop for gas. My wife pointed out the cotton field next to the gas station and thought it would make a nice picture. I saw it when we pulled up (it was huge) but I ignored it. As a black U.S. History teacher, it's hard to see the beauty of a cotton field. However, my wife wanted to take the picture of it, so, after pumping the gas, I pulled over so she could get the picture with her phone. As I pulled up to "the killing fields," I thought, maybe I should make an image. I wanted to see it the way my wife so the field, just a beautiful piece of nature. I figured I should challenge myself to make a picture of a cotton field that I could get lost in: focusing on the beauty instead of the hate. This was the end result. Hope you like it:-)
