At the end of September, I went to the center of Niger to attend one of the most remarkable events of the Wodaabe tribe, the Guerewol. Among the Wodaabe, it is the men who put on make-up and show off their charms by showing off their gleaming teeth in order to be elected by the most beautiful women of the tribe. They must show their most beautiful assets such as the make-up and the adornments they make, but also the white parts of the eyes and teeth as a sign of purity.
