THE DANCE OF PALM-LEAF CONICAL HAT
Tinh Ky fishing village (Quang Ngai province, Viet Nam) is famous for a long time with all kinds of anchovies sold everywhere. Anchovies are made into fish sauce, but Tinh Ky's specialty is steamed anchovies. Anchovy season starts from the beginning of the year to the end of April. During this time, Tinh Ky Beach is not only crowded with buyers and sellers, but underneath the poplar forest, hundreds of women take advantage of the early morning sun in their Ao Ba Ba (a symbol of the gentle soul and the elegant beauty of Vietnamese women) and conical hats, spread thick screens to dry fresh anchovies, iridescent small fish by the morning sun. A very beautiful image of the labor, hard work and diligence of Vietnamese women
