The day's bloom on a saguaro cactus
Saguaro cacti bloom in the spring, usually throughout May. A saguaro might have many buds, but each bud blooms for only a day. Fortunately, the blooms are staggered. This photo was captured in the middle of the blooming season as evidenced by the presence of dried up blooms, fresh flowers and unopened buds.
