The Depths and Division of Downtown

This photo captures an old architectural structure located downtown in my home town. I have not been to this place for a while as over the years it has earned a poor reputation. Upon visiting, I found my personal experience was unrelated to the reputation this area has received over the course of the past few years. Upon walking, I saw this beautiful building with a very distinct window and vine that previously was well taken care of. The warmth of the red on the window and the coolness of the blue allowed me to capture the two different viewpoints this area has. We can either be warm and shop at these local areas to help build each other up, or we can be cool and choose to steer away from it and take others words to heart rather than experiencing it ourselves. I also enjoyed how the vine went to the ground as it shows that things can collapse over time when no one is there to care for them. Maybe a little more care is all this area needs to make it great again, and less of a divide.
