A devastating fire rolled through our little rural town, and stormed up our own backyard. As a firefighter, my husband stayed to fight the fire to try to save our house and our neighborhood. I took this photo off our back deck. With all the fires in CA, we feel a much different sense of understanding and compassion for those going through the terrible experience having now been through it ourselves.
